Mary Jane Arner, Dunbar Mentor Center

Mary Jane received her BA in Cultural Anthropology, with a minor in Music, and her Lifetime Elementary Teaching Credential from UC Santa Barbara. She taught elementary school in Fontana and Los Alamitos for 10 years before moving to Sonoma. She has been very involved with the SVUSD over the years through volunteering, serving on different school committees, and working for many of the district's principals before transitioning to the Mentoring Alliance.

Kathy Murphy, El Verano Mentor Center


Kathy graduated from Marquette University with a degree in Psychology & Business and worked in the business field of Banking, Real Estate & Mortgages for many years before joining the Mentoring Alliance.

Randi Judd, Flowery Mentor Center


Randi received her BA in Business Management and Marketing from Sonoma State University. She has sat on the PTO Board at Flowery Elementary School and Adele Harrison Middle School and previously worked as a social worker for the Mental Health and Developmentally Disabled Adults at Partners in Rehabilitation in San Rafael where she worked closely with CPS and CASA.

Laurel Mohring, Prestwood Mentor Center

Laurel was previously an Area Director for Camp Fire Boys & Girls and ran her own daycare before working for several pre-schools, including Tiny Tots, Gingerbread House, and Sunshine Nursery. She also ran the Primary Intervention Program at Prestwood Elementary School, a non-directive play therapy program, where she was trained in conflict resolution, non-directive therapy, and reflective listening.

Suzanne Davis, Sassarini Mentor Center

Suzanne worked as a Resource Specialist Instructional Aide at El Verano Elementary School for 7 years and ran a small home-based daycare for a couple years before joining the Mentoring Alliance.

Katy Shetka, Adele Harrison Mentor Center


Katy attended Sonoma State University where she completed Parent Education Training. She worked for Family Education Centers as Program Coordinator for 4 years and has taught Parent Education for parents and trainers through the nonprofit Education Family Centers for 15 years.

Susan Millward, Altimira Mentor Center


Originally from Dublin, Ireland, Susan was a preschool teacher at Sunshine School for many years. For almost two decades, she has been an active volunteer in many local and county organizations and schools throughout the Sonoma Valley.

Sue Sammon, SVHS Mentor Center


Sue received her AA from Santa Rosa Junior College. She previously worked at El Verano and Sonoma Valley High School as a teacher's aide in Special Education classes.
