Creating Opportunities For Sonoma Valley's Youth

The Sonoma Valley Mentoring Alliance is the go-to agency for youth in need of social and emotional support or those facing family or cultural barriers to success. Since 1996, the Mentoring Alliance has helped school children by pairing them with caring adult mentors who make a big difference in their life. We do this through one-on-one school based mentoring.

Our approach is different from that of most mentoring programs because we address the social and emotional needs of our mentees by providing in-school one on one dedicated mentoring time. Additionally, optional add-on after-school programs that include enrichment activities and career discovery outreach are available. We also ask our mentors for a commitment to remain involved with their mentee throughout their formative years.

Our mentoring program currently provides mentors for 325 students throughout the Sonoma Valley Unified School District. We maintain professionally-staffed Mentor Centers at all eight K-12 public schools campuses in the Sonoma Valley. We also oversee mentoring matches at local charter schools and private schools.

For the past five years, we have had a 100% high school graduation rate. We want all our mentees to graduate high school and have a plan for 2-year or 4-year college, trade school or a job.
